Below is a link to the FDA guidelines and FAQ concerning homosexual blood donations. The ban applies solely to homosexual males, and specifically to homosexual males who have had sex with another man. The blanket ban is in place because they assume every homosexual man engages in sex with other men. Thus, this ban does not apply to homosexual women. Remember, we emphasize that this is NOT a Red Cross policy, but a policy of the federal government.
