Hey Everyone!

We need a few more volunteers for an event this weekend, Saturday, Sept. 25th, so it'd be great if you have the time to help out Smiley

There are 1 or 2 spots for the 10-2p shift and 2-4 more spots for the 1-5p shift. You can also sign up for a full shift from 10-5. Please sign up on the website and respond to this post with which shift you'd like, and you'll get an email about it later.

Here's some more info about it, if you're interested:

Playland-Not-at-the-Beach has several areas where guests (children through senior citizens) play challenging carnival games, penny arcade devices and pinball machines. As they play, guests win tickets, and then later they trade in their accumulated tickets for prizes. It is similar to a redemption family fun center except it is all free. Our goal is to give away as many prizes as possible by teaching the kids the skills to win the games. There is Skeeball, Bowler Roller, Coin Toss and over 30 pinball machines all set on Free Play.

We need volunteers to run the games and coach the kids on winning. Part of the fun is also awarding the prizes. We adjust the rules according to the skill levels of the guests, so that everybody is challenged but no one walks away feeling frustrated or defeated.

Skills
-Outgoing and Positive Personality: Must have a love of children, a pleasant personality, and the ability to applaud and shout whenever a child wins tickets or a prize.
-Run Carnival Games and Award Prizes: Needs the ability to learn easy instructions for each game, be able to organize the prizes and put point values on each one, and help the guests count their tickets.

It's in El Cerrito, but we'll be meeting as a group somewhere near campus and then heading there together. Are you interested in volunteering (and what shift)?

Thanks!
