Hey Everyone!


If you'd like to become an instructor in APRIL and are not yet certified in CPR, this is the last chance we will be able to offer you:

Adult CPR/AED

Learn how to recognize symptoms of a heart attack, what to do about them; when and how to do CPR on adults (anyone 12 years or older); choke rescue and rescue breathing; and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Upon successful completion, students receive a Certificate for Adult CPR & AED Training (valid for 1 year).

First Aid

Teaches how to recognize and care for victims of injury or sudden illness plus how to treat cuts, bruises, bone and muscle injuries, shock, bleeding and other emergencies (valid for 3 years).

Becoming an instructor

The next available instructor training will be in April. Here are the requirements:

1. You must be CPR certified
2. You must be able to attend all four classes:

3. You must make the payment of $190 when you enroll with the chapter; this will be reimbursed if you volunteer to teach 4 classes with the chapter within a year of becoming a certified instructor, does not count if you teach for ARC at Cal.

   I would like to become an American Red Cross Instructor in:
   -First Aid /CPR / AED

   I would prefer to take my instructor course at the following training center:
   -San Francisco
        -Oakland

   You can leave the workplace blank if you would like to.

Space is very limited, so please submit the application ASAP. The chapter will contact you directly for the next few steps of the process. Please let me know once you submit your application so that we will know who our future instructors will be!

Hi Fanny and Robin,

I just submitted an application for instructor training this April. Under "most recent date certified" I put "training 3/14/2010." Hope that works.
