- Ace of Cakes March 17, 2012 | 7-9 pm, Tan Oak Room
What is Ace of Cakes for Charity? For those who do not know what Ace of
Cakes is, it is a reality cake-baking competition. Our event will
feature clubs from all across campus competing in a cake-baking
competition. Participating clubs will bring the cakes on-site on the day of
the event to be voted for by event attendees. Moreover, each competing
club will be given a period of time to talk about their respective
organizations in the interest of publicizing for their club or cause.
There will be judges, but the final winner will ultimately be decided by
the club that collects the most votes from attendees. The event will be
open to all Berkeley students.
What is the grand prize?
There will be an early entrance/registration fee of $15 for each
participating club. However, after March 12, there will be a late
registration fee of $18. The money from all club entrance fees will be
entered into a pot, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will win an
amount of this pot, proportionate to their place. Each winning club can
then donate the money to whatever cause they want or can utilize the money
for personal club purpose.
Even though the competition is free for all to attend, an attendee must
pay $4 in order to place two votes and participate in the activities,
such as cupcake decorating, and more! In the end, all profit put towards
voting will go to the three charities we stated above.
