Reminder.
3rd General Meeting
Thursday, November 17 • 7:00pm - 8:00pm
2060 VLSB

•   *MEASLES HOLIDAY INITIATIVE:*
Measles, an extremely contagious and easily preventable infection, is one of the leading killers of children worldwide. An estimated 450 people die each day from the disease, which is very easily avoidable. The Red Cross sponsors the Measles Initiative, whose goal is to help get vaccinations out in the world to try to eradicate the disease. It costs *less than $1 for a vaccination. *Thanks to the Measles Initiative helping children get vaccinated, measles deaths have fallen by *78% between 2000-2008 around the world*.

This is where we come in! ARC@Cal and the UC Berkeley community can make a huge impact by helping the Measles Holiday Initiative! Donate any spare change you may have to help save children around the world -- it all adds up! Only $1 can save someone's life! Tell your roommates, family, friends, lab partner, who ever! You can accept donations, and give them to *ANY* ARC@CalExcomm; they will ensure that the money goes directly to the Measles Initiative! Let's save lives this Holiday Season! Smiley

•   Forms and dues are due. Remember, you can check your hours and see if you paid your dues here on the website (http://redcross.pftq.com/data/members/?orderby=hours&direction=desc&all=true).
Be sure to get your 10 hours in before the end of the semester! There are still plenty of events that you can attend to fulfill your hour requirement. Come to the general meeting to see how you can get involved.
Internships for Excomm next year
•   We, the officers of ARC@Cal, won’t be with this group forever, so we need fresh new members to take over. Internship applications will be released at the 3rd General Meeting. Accepted applicants will be an intern for the spring semester and an official the next year. You like what we do? You have ideas to improve the group? Want to have a great (leadership) experience? Be sure to apply!
•   House of Curries is the dinner social after the general meeting, so don't eat before! After the general
meeting, we'll head there to have dinner as our last social and 10% of the profits will be donated to the measles
initiative as part of the ARC Holiday Campaign! If you eat with us after the meeting, just bring yourself and funds. If not with us, bring the required fundraising flyer. Encourage friends to eat there! Check here for more details:
