Hello lovely Red Crossers!
The end of the semester is quickly approaching. Hopefully many of you are on your way to fulfilling most, if not all, of your member requirements. If you are still short of a few hours, don't fret! There are still plenty of opportunities available! Remember that every member should have turned in a volunteer form and $10 dues. If you haven't done so already, please do it ASAP. Also, active membership entails a minimum of 10 hours with ARC and coming out to at least one social. Hours can be acquired through attending events with any of our committees (excluding trainings and CPR/First Aid certifications) and coming to general meetings. If you are curious about the number of hours you have completed thusfar, visit our website, click on members, and search for your name (or you can just log onto your own profile) :D
Upcoming events:
1. Last General Meeting of the semester Day/Time: Tuesday, November 16th, 7:00-8:30PM* Location: 219 Dwinelle* We will be having some special visitors from the American Red Cross chapter in Washington DC! They were very impressed by our work that they decided to pay us a visit and learn how they could adapt our organization to other campuses. This will also give you an opportunity to ask questions and see how cohesive the American Red Cross is across state lines! AND this is an easy peazy way of getting an hour toward active membership! *NOTE: Different day (Tuesday instead of Thursday), different room.
2. Big Game Blood Drive, Part 2 Day/Time: Friday, November 19th, 11:00AM-5:00PM Location: MLK Pauley Ballroom Come donate blood at our annual blood drive competition against Stanford! Tell all of your friends to GET THE RED OUT so we can BEAT STANFORD! Each blood donation can help save 3 lives!
3. Dodgeball Social Day/Time: TBA, sometime after Thanksgiving More information will be given out when the details are finalized, but I promise you it will be TONS OF FUN! Plus, it's your last chance to fulfill that social requirement! (;
4. Volunteer Banquet Day/Time: TBA, sometime after Thanksgiving Let us show you how much we appreciate YOU, our awesome volunteer! Come reminisce about the great times we had this semester over some grub! Food and fun provided!
Sorry for such a lengthy announcement! I hope to see every one of you at at least one of these events! Best of luck on midterms, studying, and finals!
PS, Berkeley Project pictures are posted on Amy's facebook, but it will be on the website REAL soooon. (:
