The Heroes fundraising competition is well underway and we wanted to
remind you to register your club to participate NOW! There is still
plenty of time. The competition runs until June 11th. All proceeds
from this competition will be donated to the American Red Cross Bay Area
Chapter, so when you are out there fundraising make sure people know
where their money is going.
IT IS SUPER EASY TO SIGN UP! **ONLY YOUR CLUB PRESIDENT OR AN OFFICER
CAN REGISTER AS THE TEAM CAPTAIN**
Instructions on how to create your club's team are attached to this
email and please be sure to name your team "(Your School Name) Red Cross
Club". Here is an example: "Alameda High School Red Cross Club". Take
a look at the helpful tips below on how to maximize your fundraising
efforts and best of luck!
Tip #1: How to raise more money - Send out emails to all of your family
and friends encouraging them to donate to your cause! Here is how:
1. Join your Red Cross Club's team
2. Then, use your log in and in the top right hand corner click on
"Access Your Participant Center"
3. Click on "Address Book"
4. Click on the box that says "Add from my Address Book" with the
green arrow. This will allow you to import all of your email contacts
from your gmail, yahoo, or other email address book.
5. Click on the "Email" icon. This will bring up many different
email templates that you can use to send out to your family and friends
to encourage them to donate.
6. Send out emails!
TIP #2: How to show on your team's thermometer the accurate number of
money raised so far - If you have received cash or check donations at a
club fundraiser, the team captain/Red Cross Club president or officer
that created the team can enter the amount that you have raised by doing
the following:
1. Log in and in the top right hand corner click on "Access Your
Participant Center"
2. Click on the "My Progress" icon at the top
3. Click on "Enter Gifts Received Offline". This will show in
real time how much you have raised on your thermometer!
