What defines a community? In answering this question we often set limits,
and these limits define many of our actions and interactions. The Red
Cross, on the other hand, is a global community that does not limit its
actions based on creed, culture, or country border. So why limit its
reach based on campus?
The American Red Cross at Cal is holding this Leadership Conference for
the first time in order to foster relationships and collaborations
between the Red Cross clubs across the Bay Area. We will be hosting
speakers from the American Red Cross Bay Area chapter as well as hosting
workshops and several talks about strategies and guidelines to leading a
successful Red Cross club. After 12 years we have figured out a lot of
things that work (and a lot that don’t!) and we’d like to share that
experience with you. This conference is the first step forward for many
of the Bay Area clubs, and is also the first step towards expanding our
collaborative efforts further into Northern California (and then the rest
of California… and eventually the whole country!).
