Friday, April 16th from
3-4p.m.Youth Committee holds
FACT Days, which stands for First Aid for Children Today, to educate local elementary school students about actions they can take to stay safe in various situations. We set up interactive stations in the classroom that students are able to rotate through. Some of the topics we cover include:
Fire Safety
Stranger Safety
Nutrition
Earthquake Safety
First Aid
The length of our presentations may be between 30 minutes to an hour long, depending on the class's schedule. The students and teachers we've visited before have enjoyed our presentations, and the students have been able to walk away with important skills.
There is a requirement to attend an orientation held by Youth Committee. If you'd like to take part in FACT Day, please sign up or contact Youth Co-coordinators Jackie Lo at
jacquelinelo@berkeley.edu or Rosanna Galzote at
rosannagalzote@berkeley.edu with any questions.
