Thank you all for coming to our first meeting!

A recap of what we discussed:
On campus, we will be holding fundraisers and informational campaigns regarding the Measle and Malaria Initiatives. We will continue to sell Measles pins on campus, and will discuss other fundraising efforts and ideas at our next committee meeting.
Since so many of you are interested in taking part in the International Humanitarian Law seminar, we will be holding one during October over two Mondays, 6-8pm, dates TBD. We also will be having one October 16th, 10am-2pm. If interested, please sign up in advance by emailing rkatz@berkeley.edu. Space is limited and in high demand.
Also, the ARC@Cal Club is very active in helping to organize the Pakistan Flood Relief Fundraiser. We will be soliciting food donations for the food drive, as well as acting as volunteers and fundraisers for the Walkathon/Performance event. Details will be provided at the next meeting.

We plan to work very closely with the Chapter. Those who are available may attend the International Services Committee Meeting (at the Chapter level) monthly on the 4th Thursday in SF at Noon (noon-1:15).  Membership on the International Services Committee gives you an opportunity to continue to develop and build upon your international connections and advance your outreach in the global community.  The meetings will also give you a chance to expand your knowledge of issues and activities that are occurring in the Bay Area and beyond. Future Dates: October 28, 2010, November 16, 2010, December -TBD. They have asked for the Cal Club to help figure out how to do social media outreach of these events.

Also, we plan to get involved with the Chapter's Restoring Family Links program, helping to do outreach to immigrant and refugee communities about the service. The program helps to re-establish contact between families disconnected by armed conflict and natural disaster through tracing and message delivery services. Those who would like to help out with this program can email me for more information.

If you have any questions, or would like to indicate which programs you are most interested in participating in, please feel free to email us and we can send more information! We hope to see you all at our next committee meeting on October 11!
